The Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
This is an exciting and critical opportunity for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a dynamic secondary academy in Bradford. This permanent role is focused on supporting and leading learning for students, particularly those with SEMH and behavioural needs.

What We're Looking For
- HLTA status or equivalent experience in an educational setting.
- A passion for working with young people who need extra support.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)
- Behaviour Management (Expertise in de-escalation techniques).
- Lesson Delivery (Ability to lead whole-class learning).
- Relationship Building (Fostering trust with students and staff).
- Differentiated Instruction (Adapting content for diverse needs).
- SEMH Support (Knowledge of strategies for emotional well-being).
- Data Analysis (Monitoring and reporting on student progress).
What You'll Do
- Deliver engaging lessons and interventions for students with SEMH and behavioural needs.
- Support teachers in creating personalised learning experiences that spark curiosity and progress.
- Build strong, positive relationships that help students feel safe, valued, and motivated.
- Work with colleagues and external partners to ensure every child gets the support they deserve.
- Live out the academy's ethos and 9 Habits, promoting inclusion, respect, and resilience every day.
- Plan and prepare learning materials and resources under the direction of the class teacher.
- Assess, monitor, and record students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Supervise and manage classroom behaviour effectively, implementing the school's policy.
- Support the emotional and social development of students, acting as a key mentor.
- Lead small group and 1:1 sessions focusing on core subjects or specific social skills.
