We are looking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic, and nurturing Year 3 Learning Support Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school based in South Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning, helping them grow in confidence, and contributing to a positive and engaging classroom environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Year 3 class teacher, the SENCO, and wider school staff to ensure that all pupils receive the support, encouragement, and guidance they need to thrive academically and socially.

The role involves providing day-to-day classroom support within a lively and diverse Year 3 setting. You will assist the class teacher with delivering lessons, preparing resources, and ensuring that learning activities are accessible to all pupils. A key aspect of the role is providing targeted support, both 1:1 and in small groups, especially in core subjects such as reading, writing, and maths. You may work with pupils who require additional help to secure key skills, enabling them to make sustained progress throughout the school year.

In addition to academic support, you will play an important role in promoting pupils' emotional wellbeing and personal development. Year 3 can be a transitional stage for children as they move further into Key Stage 2, so the ability to build trusting relationships, provide reassurance, and foster independence is essential. You will help pupils develop resilience, positive learning behaviours, and strong social skills that will support their broader school experience.

The ideal candidate will be patient, adaptable, and confident in supporting a wide range of learning needs. A good understanding of the Year 3 and wider KS2 curriculum is desirable, along with the ability to adapt tasks, scaffold learning, and use strategies that meet individual needs. Experience supporting phonics, early writing development, and foundational maths skills is beneficial. A willingness to learn and follow school policies, routines, and behaviour approaches is essential.

Effective communication is a key part of the role. You will work collaboratively with the class teacher to provide feedback on pupils' progress, behaviour, and engagement, helping to inform planning and intervention needs. You may also occasionally interact with parents, so a professional, friendly manner is important. The school values teamwork highly, and you will be part of a dedicated staff community that works closely to ensure all pupils feel safe, supported, and valued.

The school itself is known for its welcoming atmosphere, strong pastoral care, and commitment to providing a high-quality education for all children. Staff benefit from supportive leadership, ongoing training opportunities, and a culture that prioritises wellbeing and professional growth.

This role would suit an experienced LSA or someone with relevant experience in education, childcare, or youth support who is eager to make a meaningful difference. A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable, but individuals with strong practical experience and the right attitude are encouraged to apply.

If you are passionate about supporting children's learning and would like to contribute to a caring, vibrant Year 3 classroom in South Liverpool, we would love to hear from you.
