Summary

Senior Housing Development Officer - Project Management
Waverley Court

Salary: £46.023 - £54,476
Hours: 36 per week

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Housing Development Officer to join the High Rise Management and Investment team to assist in the delivery of several multi-million-pound investment programmes across the city. Your role will involve working closely with internal and external project teams to support the investment team to deliver large scale retrofit and upgrade projects across the Council's estates.

The role is essential in managing the Council's relationship with residents in our multi-storey blocks across the city, working closely with colleagues in the Locality Housing service and liaising with the Council's external contractors. You will have the opportunity to work within an expanding and evolving team where you will be involved in the planning, engagement and continued delivery of safe, secure, well maintained and energy efficient buildings with a customer first approach.

Within the High-Rise team, we currently have five design commissions at various RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) design stages covering twelve high rise blocks with another five additional blocks scheduled for design of full fabric upgrade this year with a budget of around £250m.

We also have a live £60m fire improvement programme covering thirty high rise blocks which is one of the most ambitious domestic fire safety programmes in the UK. Further large-scale mechanical and electrical improvement programmes are planned to have early design begin in the next year. You can view an example of the types of projects we are delivering on our https://www.collectivearchitecture.co.uk/projects/cables-wynd-house-lin… style="font-family: 'Aptos',sans-serif;">external contractor website.

More information about our investment programme, and our ongoing projects, can be found https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/multi-storey-blocks/multi-storey-blocks-1"… style="font-family: 'Aptos',sans-serif;">on our website. These works will require the successful applicant to build relationships with tenants/residents of affected buildings and engage with all stakeholders throughout at all stages of the projects.

We are a diverse, team and customer focused, open-minded, forward thinking, solutions-based team who lead in demonstrating our behaviours - respect, integrity and flexibility. If you see yourself in this, then we are keen to speak to you.

If you have any questions or want to find out more about the role, please contact

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

As part of our goal to improve our organisational culture and create a great place to work together for the people of Edinburgh, we want to make sure that we're bringing the best people into our roles, not just in their skills and experience but also in their approach to work.

To help achieve this, we're changing the way we interview and assess candidates by moving from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioural and technical (skills for the job) based approach. This new way of interviewing will allow us to assess how you think and how you would bring Our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility into your ways of working.

You can find out more on Our Behaviours web page https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/work-us/behaviours" target="_blank">Our Behaviours - The City of Edinburgh Council

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
