Summary
Salary– £33,057 per annum
Hours – 18 hours per week (will include occasional evening and weekend working)
Contract – Temporary, 3 years
Location – Meadowbank Sports Centre (with regular travel across EL venues and golf courses)
Are you an enthusiastic and energetic leader with a passion for golf and community development?
We’re looking for a dynamic Golf Development Officer to join our team. You’ll lead the design, coordination, and delivery of inclusive golf development programmes, increasing participation, improving progression pathways, and supporting the long-term sustainability of golf across the city.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the design, delivery, and technical implementation of golf development programmes, with particular focus on growing participation and progression for women and girls.
- Recruit, develop, and retain coaches, volunteers, and workforce to deliver high-quality programmes and build a capable, motivated team.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders (local golf clubs, NGBs, schools) to deliver inclusive, sustainable golf programmes city-wide.
- Monitor and analyse participation data, KPIs, and performance metrics to evaluate success, spot trends, and drive continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring:
- Further or Higher Education qualification or at least 5 years’ work experience in an equivalent sport and leisure environment.
- Relevant lead golf coaching qualification, with recent significant golf coaching experience.
- Demonstrable understanding of core principles of sport development.
- Track record of working with national sports governing bodies and sports clubs.
- Experience of managing CPD opportunities.
- Experience leading and delivering sports programmes and projects.
- (Desirable) Golf Professional UKCC and Tutor qualifications and a Community Golf Instructor award.
- (Desirable) Experience of customer care and retention, working with a wide range of partners, and
- Full UK driving licence
