Neway International are seeking a Tribunal and Complaints Officer to join our client Liverpool City Council.
Location: Cunard Building, Water Street, Pier Head, Liverpool, Merseyside, L2 2BS, Hours: 35 per week
Start Date: 05 January 2026
Duration: On-going
Pay Rates: PAYE £41.83 per hour / Limited/Umbrella £55.16 per hour
Work Pattern: 1 day per week on site

Reducing the number of complaints and tribunals is a corporate priority, and the Council is seeking interim specialist support to provide additional capacity in this critical area.
The Role
As Tribunal and Complaints Officer (Interim), you will provide expert support to clear the backlog of complaints and tribunals within SEND. This is a short-term assignment designed to deliver a unique, one-off project and is not anticipated to be a long-term or permanent post.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and progress SEND complaints and tribunal cases efficiently.
Provide specialist knowledge and guidance on tribunal processes.
Support the Council in reducing the backlog of cases.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and Council policies.
Deliver outcomes aligned with corporate priorities.
Candidate Requirements
Proven track record in SEND complaints and tribunal processes.
Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and procedures.
Ability to work independently and deliver results within tight timescales.
Excellent communication and case management skills.
Flexible approach with capacity to work on site one day per week.
