Summary

Neway International are seeking SEND Caseworkers – Social Care Qualified to join our client based with Liverpool City Council.

Location: Conleach Road, Liverpool, Merseyside, L24 0TY
Hours: 35 per week
Start Date: 23 March 2026
End Date: 12 Weeks from start- will be extended after review
Pay Rates:
• PAYE: £212.66 per day
• Limited/Umbrella: £287.11 per day

Work Pattern: Approximately 2 days per week on site

About the Client
Liverpool City Council’s Children & Young People’s Services directorate provides essential support to children, young people, and families across the city. The SEND Service plays a critical role in ensuring that children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities receive the right support, assessments, and educational pathways.

The Role
As a SEND Caseworker, you will support schools, settings, families, and partner agencies in applying the graduated approach to meeting the needs of pupils with SEND. You will coordinate the statutory assessment process, manage Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans from assessment through to review, and ensure statutory timescales are met. This role requires strong multi‑agency collaboration, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to placing children, young people, and families at the centre of all planning.

Key Responsibilities
• Support schools, settings, and families in applying the graduated approach to SEND
• Coordinate statutory assessments and manage the EHC planning process
• Review and monitor pupil progress against agreed outcomes
• Develop strong working relationships with SENCos, head teachers, and partner agencies
• Work collaboratively with SENISS, Occupational Therapy, Educational Psychology, Social Care, Health, and other services
• Ensure all statutory timescales are met for EHC plan development and review
• Attend annual reviews for vulnerable pupils, including Looked After Children and those at risk of exclusion
• Ensure children and young people are supported to attend maintained settings within Liverpool wherever possible
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure high‑quality communication with families and professionals

Candidate Requirements
• Recent experience within an educational or Children’s Services environment, ideally as a SEND Caseworker
• Strong working knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and associated SEND legislation, including SENDIST regulations
• Experience facilitating review meetings and managing multi‑agency processes
• Proven ability to work in partnership with schools, families, and external agencies
• Experience working with parents and carers in a supportive and professional manner
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to produce complex spreadsheets and presentations
• Ability to work as part of a team and manage a varied caseload effectively
