Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Co-Ordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in our care home. Duties
Design, plan, and implement a diverse range of recreational activities tailored to residents’ interests and needs, including those with dementia or Alzheimer's.
Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, games, outings, and special events.
Assess individual resident preferences and capabilities to personalize activity programs effectively.
Collaborate with care staff to integrate activities into personalized care plans.
Encourage participation from all residents while respecting their individual choices and limitations.
Maintain accurate records of activities conducted and resident participation levels.
Foster a positive environment that promotes socialization, mental stimulation, and emotional wellbeing.
Stay informed about best practices in dementia-friendly activities to continually improve program quality.
Skills
Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home environments, particularly with dementia patients.
Strong understanding of Alzheimer’s and dementia-related needs and behavior's.
Excellent communication skills to engage residents effectively and work collaboratively with staff and families.
Creativity in developing engaging activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities.
Organisational skills to plan schedules, manage resources, and maintain detailed records efficiently.
Compassionate approach with patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to improve residents’ quality of life.
