Technical Manager – Operations
£60,000 - £80,000 plus Bonus
London
If you’re the kind of Technical Manager who believes that quality isn’t a department but a promise, you might want to keep reading.
This is an opportunity to step into a high-growth, innovation-led food business that’s reshaping how consumers access fresh, high-quality ingredients. You’ll be joining an organisation where technical integrity is seen as a strategic advantage-where data, compliance and customer trust work together to create a smarter, more transparent supply chain. If you’re motivated by pace, precision and the chance to raise the bar across an entire category, this role will feel like a natural next step.
About the Role
You’ll lead the technical agenda across a diverse, fast-moving food portfolio, ensuring product quality, food safety and regulatory compliance are not only maintained but continually elevated. Partnering closely with Operations, NPD and Commercial teams, you’ll shape technical strategy, embed best practice across supplier networks and champion a culture where excellence is non-negotiable.
This role has come about through additional headcount and strengthening of the technical department so the ability to ask questions and turn insights into action will be welcomed. You’ll influence decision-making at every level, bringing clarity, confidence and a forward-thinking approach to how food manufacturing should be done today.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will bring:
Extensive experience in FMCG or food manufacturing, ideally in chilled, fresh or high-care categories.
A proven track record in technical leadership, food safety management and retailer standards.
Strong understanding of BRCGS, HACCP, QMS, supplier assurance and UK food legislation.
The ability to build and maintain high-performing supplier relationships.
Credibility, resilience and the communication skills to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to balance pace with precision.
What’s on Offer
A pivotal technical leadership role with genuine visibility and impact.
The chance to shape standards within a fast-scaling, consumer-focused food business.
Autonomy to drive improvements across quality, safety, sustainability and supplier performance.
A forward-thinking culture that values innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Competitive salary and benefits aligned to the expectations of a senior technical professional.
Ready to elevate your career?
If you’re motivated by technical excellence and want to help shape the future of modern food production, this role could be your next step.
