Neway International are seeking a Resilience Officer to join our client Camden Council.

Location: 5 Pancras Square, London
Hours: 36 per week (09:00 – 17:30)
Target Start Date: 14 December 2025
End Date: on-going long term
Pay Rates: PAYE £26.92 per hour / Limited/Umbrella £35.24 per hour

Working under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, Camden’s Resilience Team ensures robust emergency planning, business continuity, and strong partnerships across services, agencies, and communities.

The Role
As Resilience Officer, you will play a central role in ensuring Camden is prepared for, can respond to, and recover from emergencies that may impact the community. You will develop and maintain emergency plans, coordinate business continuity strategies, and strengthen partnerships both internally and externally. The role may require participation in a 24/7 on-call rota as a Resilience Advisor.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain robust emergency plans and arrangements in line with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004

Coordinate business continuity strategies across Council services to ensure critical functions remain operational during disruption

Engage with internal teams, external agencies, and community organisations to strengthen Camden’s resilience

Design and deliver training and exercises to test emergency arrangements and improve preparedness

Support continuous improvement by identifying lessons from incidents, exercises, and inquiries

Provide advice and guidance on resilience to colleagues, partners, and stakeholders

Participate in the 24/7 on-call rota as required

Candidate Requirements
Experience working in a complex organisation and managing challenging situations under pressure

Strong knowledge of emergency planning, incident response, and business continuity

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels

Strategic and analytical thinker with strong organisational skills

Experience delivering training or exercises to large groups

Calm, decisive, and resilient under pressure, with a commitment to continuous improvement
