Description
General Dynamics Land Systems is on the look-out for a full-time Materials Coordinator to join our established team. The successful and inclusive candidate will earn a favourable salary of £29,520 to £33,000 based on experience and potential. This is an ideal role for someone who has a proactive and positive mindset and a keen desire to grow professionally. Joining an established team based at our Merthyr ( South Wales ) facility, you will work across a range of stakeholders. You will report functionally to the Master Scheduler and Planning manager and your primary responsibility will be to work closely with our SCM, warehouse and production teams, field service representatives and programme to ensure timely, cost-effective management of materials to the shop floor to support the retrofit plans and to manage material control throughout the whole process including fulfilling requirements within the plan. In this position you will take a lead role coordinating and planning the daily workload to adhere to the retrofit plans. If you were already working in this position, this is what you would have been working on this week:- Releasing all production material requirements to the warehouse for picking in line with the production plan and ensure they are delivered OTIF expediting any late deliveries
- Review all material requirements for the forward plan and work closely with the support functions department to resolve any shortage issues
- Assist in the preparation of various management and shortage reports and provide regular communication on accuracies/discrepancies, shop floor inventory requirements, material availability and status
- Knowledge of MRP, Bills of Material, Work Orders, Sales Orders and material transactions within an ERP System preferably Oracle
- Considerable experience working as a similar production planner / material controller type role.
- Practical knowledge of material planning and logistics management
- High level of competence with Microsoft Excel and analytical tools
- A good understanding of Configuration Control
- Strong communication skills being able to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Customer focused providing excellent service levels to both internal and external customers
- Good understanding of the key principles of continuous improvement and experience of working in a CI environment. Leads change and must have a ‘can do’ attitude
