Our school:
Thank you for your interest in this role. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Inclusion Team department as a Inclusion Centre Manager.
We were proud to achieve a ‘Good’ outcome in all categories during an Ofsted Inspection in October 2023 in which Ofsted commented the following:
‘The school is ambitious for all pupils, including those with SEND. It has designed a curriculum that sets out high academic expectations’
‘Teachers have strong subject knowledge. This is reflected in their high-quality explanations of subject content’
‘Pupils are respectful and polite. They understand the school’s expectations in terms of conduct and behaviour’
‘Staff know their pupils well, and they build positive relationships with them’
The school is an increasingly popular choice within the local community and we are delighted to advertise this role due to an expansion within the school and a larger intake of students in September 2025.
The post:
This is a non-teaching post which will give the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to work closely with young people supporting them in their school life.
We are looking for someone to join our well established, hard-working and dedicated Inclusion team, to work under the direction of our Deputy Headteacher and Inclusion Leader.
As Inclusion Centre Manager, you will need to:
Manage and run the Inclusion Room (sometimes known as a reflection, internal exclusion, or behaviour intervention room), providing a calm, structured, and restorative environment that supports students with behaviour challenges.
Reduce disruption in mainstream lessons by supervising students removed from class (“call-outs”), delivering meaningful work, and promoting behaviour reflection and change.
Support the school’s behaviour policy by overseeing detention provision, behaviour administration, and restorative processes.
Work closely with the pastoral team, SLT, teaching staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure effective reintegration of students into mainstream lessons.
We are seeking someone who:
Has experience working with young people in a school, youth work, or behaviour-support setting.
Has strong understanding of behaviour management, restorative practices, and de-escalation techniques.
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills – able to build rapport with students, staff, parents, and external agencies.
Is highly organised, with the ability to maintain accurate records and handle administrative tasks.
Is resilient, calm under pressure, and able to manage challenging behaviour with empathy and consistency.
Has the ability to analyse data (behaviour, attendance) to inform interventions and report to senior leaders.
Is competent in using school information systems (e.g., Arbor), Microsoft Office (Excel/Word), or equivalent.
Has a proactive and solution-focused approach, with a commitment to inclusion, equity, and improving student outcomes.
See the job description/person specification (below) for further details.
Closing date: 9am, Friday 12th December 2025
Interviews to be held on: Tuesday 16th December 2025
We reserve the right to interview and appoint before the closing date, should a suitable candidate apply.
Oaks Park High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. As such, the successful applicant will be required to undertake a criminal record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Oaks Park High School is an equal opportunities employer.
