Strathmore College are recruiting for a Wellbeing Co-ordinator to join our Education team! We are looking for a versatile, resilient and committed Wellbeing Co-ordinator who can adapt their practice wherever necessary to support across all key stages.

Strathmore college is an SEN college for students aged 19 to 25. What makes us different is that each of our learners work on a completely individual programme which is specifically structured to support them into employment and to gain an increased level of independence as they prepare for adulthood. Good links with employers enables learners to develop skills in the workplace to support their transition.

The Strathmore College building itself acts as a central hub from which a vast range of community-based learning takes place. Community-based learning is central to our ethos, with learners engaging in a lot of practical, hands-on activities and work-based learning.

Key accountabilities:

  • To plan in conjunction with pastoral intervention lead, and present specific interventions to students (individual and / or groups) including anxiety management; anger management; anger management; relaxation strategies; mindfulness and building resilience. To manage, monitor, review and adapt these required
  • Training and support of the ELSAs; and working alongside them to provide cohesive interventions
  • Leading on students mentoring provision - providing guidelines and material to staff and monitoring students/staff allocation
  • Tracking of students' wellbeing, including using tools such as PPP,MFQ and WHO5
  • Support staff to complete behaviour support plans
  • Clear planning; goal setting; written records; and tracking of all interventions and training is expected
  • To maintain confidential, accurate and up-to-date records in the form progress notes and other associated documentations; as well as presenting and sharing relevant information and knowledge concerning assigned students with professional colleagues at regular case conference meetings
  • To support DSL's & DDSL's with safeguarding across the school
  • To communicate with outside agencies in the sharing & collaborations of information to support positive outcome
  • In conjunction with the pastoral intervention, regularly evaluate and review the interventions and implement new and improved methods, techniques and interventions based upon best practice and evidence-based research
  • To support students that are unable to access school
  • To undertake home visits (if required)
