Crynodeb

Thorn Baker is working in collaboration with a large FM company to effectively resource a cleaning Finance Bid Modeller.

This opportunity has arisen following internal growth and an increase in new contract bids and tenders. Our client is a dynamic, people led business. They offer structured progression and exceptional, comprehensive career growth.

The ideal candidate will have a background of working in the soft services facilities management sector, with a comprehensive understanding of service delivery and people lead environments. A history of working with contract cleaning companies would be excellent, however as a minimum our client will open up conversations with people from catering and security backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust financial models to support bids, new business opportunities and strategic initiatives.
• Work with Operations and Business Development teams to analyse staffing structures, service models and P&L implications.
• Support tender submissions and pricing exercises by providing accurate, transparent and commercially focused financial insights.
• Design scenario and sensitivity analyses to model the impact of different business assumptions and operating environments.
• Build interactive dashboards and reporting tools in Excel (and ideally Power BI) to support business cases and executive reviews.
• Continuously improve model design for accuracy, usability and strategic insight.
• Contribute to commercial strategy discussions, bringing data-led insight and innovative thinking.

Skills & Experience Required

• Expert-level Excel user (advanced formulas, Power Query, pivot tables, scenario modelling).
• Proven experience in financial and operational modelling, ideally within commercial cleaning or the wider facilities management sector.
• Strong understanding of operational cost drivers, resource modelling and margin analysis.
• Commercially minded with the ability to translate complex scenarios into actionable insight.
• Confident communicator with the ability to contribute to strategic discussions.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field (professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) is an advantage.

Personal Attributes

• Proactive and curious, with a genuine interest in how financial models drive business success.
• Analytical yet creative, capable of thinking beyond the numbers.
• Collaborative and confident, comfortable voicing ideas and challenging assumptions constructively.
• Driven to make a difference to business growth.
• Detail-oriented and organised, with a focus on accuracy and clarity.
• Adaptable and resourceful, thriving under pressure and tight time-lines.

If you are looking to join a forward thinking business and enhance your commercial skill set within a busy environment then please apply.
