• Our dedicated teams and specialist midwives for AN screening, Infant Feeding, NIPE, Bereavement, Governance, FGM, Maternal Medicine, Diabetes, FMU/DAU, Safeguarding and Perinatal Mental Health have a wealth of experience and are able support you todevelop your knowledgein areas you feel passionate about. • A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic, skilled midwife to co-ordinate our Delivery Suite. We are looking for a motivated midwife with experience caring for high and low risk women, ample HDU and triage background, and ideally acting up as labour ward coordinator. St George’s delivery suite hosts a designated HDU area, triage and two obstetric theatres to meet the varied needs of our population. All our staff are trained in STAN fetal monitoring, and this method is successfully used on the delivery suite since 2002.

• The enthusiastic and dynamic midwifery and obstetric teams work closely together with an embedded MDT culture to meet the specific and individual needs of women who come from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds.
• We strive togive outstanding, safe and compassionate care throughoutpregnancy and birthto allwomen/ birthing people, whether they chose to give birth at home, in our Birth Centre or on our Delivery Suite. • Ouroutstanding maternity HDU cares for women/ birthing people who need more complex care and we offer training and support to all midwives interested in developing the skills to work here.
• We are very proud of our well established Fetal Monitoring team that deliver MDT training, twice weekly teaching and clinically support learning on shifts.
• You will gain a deeper understanding of fetal well-being, CTG and STAN monitoring that will expand your knowledge and help support a safe and healthy birth.
• You can develop your skills and practice across the entire maternity service and support women/ birthing people across the entire range of our services.

After years of collaboration, our two Trusts became a hospitals group in 2021. While remaining as two separate Trusts, being a hospitals group will help us to collaborate more closely on research, and the development, education, and training of our 17,000-strong workforce.

As professional role model, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and organisation of the clinical area, whilst providing support and leadership to the midwifery team and maintaining your own clinical skills. The successful applicant will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage change, difficult situations, and think on your feet within a challenging environment. You will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team, with a clear and consistent approach to problem solving, risk management and effective team building. You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operation of the delivery suite, ensuring quality our quality standards are achieved, managing all grades of midwifery and support staff including student midwives when necessary. You will participate in the bleep holder responsibilities and liaise closely with the lead midwives in the maintenance and development of the service. You will be expected to participate in ongoing service improvement and safety initiatives.
