What will I be doing as a Residential Support Worker?

Madiba is a community of loving people, dedicated to supporting and caring for young individuals aged between 7-18 years old. Our dedicated team are here to help young people through their challenges and provide them with the tools and guidance they need every single day.

-Developing positive relationships with the young people in our care, their families and external agencies
-Contributing to the young person’s care plans and any risk assessments, supporting with implementation and reviews
-Supporting young people with daily activities, educational needs and emotional wellbeing
-Ensuring that good quality records are maintained as required
-Previous experience is not a requirement for this role as we provide 3 weeks classroom training followed by 1 week of shadow shifts to ensure that you feel confident and well equipped to start your new role !

What we are looking for?

-We welcome applications from people who have previous experience in a children’s residential setting or similar role
-People who have the ability to interact with young people and manage challenging behaviours calmly
-A full UK driving licence
-You must also be over 21 years of age to meet industry regulations
-Level 3 / 4 Diploma in Children’s & Young Peoples workforce would be great – although this is not essential
-Flexibility to work shifts including weekends, evenings and sleep-in duties on a rota basis - our shifts are 7:30am – 11:00pm 2 on 4 off and sleep-ins 11:30pm – 7:30am (paid at £50 per sleep)
