What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for adedicated 1:1 Level 2 Teaching Assistant, to join our dedicated team and contribute to ensuring our school continues to flourish and that every child reaches their full potential. The role will give the candidate an opportunity to experience all aspects of school life, working with SEN children in class, and outside in formal lessons and in more informal scenarios. As this is a combined role, at lunchtime we will be looking for a Mealtime Assistant who can lead play, interact with the children and undertake the responsibility of supervising and ensuring the safety of the children at all times.

Our Teaching Assistants play an important role in the education of our pupils. You would work collaboratively with our teaching team to support all pupils to work towards achieving their individual outcomes and maximising their learning opportunities both within and outside of the school setting. If you have high expectations of student achievement and behaviour, good communication skills and a commitment to working as part of a team we would love to hear from you.

What the school offers its staff

Meavy Primary is a small rural village school situated on the edge of Dartmoor where the children are at the heart of everything we do. Our children have a thirst for learning and our school is a happy and harmonious place to learn and grow. Our Christian values of Joy, Hope, Love, Wisdom and Respect underpin school life, and our school community values the contribution that every child makes. We seek opportunities to take the children’s learning outdoors wherever possible and our beautiful school grounds are the perfect place to start.
