You will be working as the Responsible Pharmacist of a friendly and organised team at Panacea Pharmacy delivering pharmaceutical services to the Out-Patients of North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust.
Working alongside the Superintendent Pharmacist you will be facilitating the dispensing of vital medicines across a range of specialities and
overseeing over-the-counter supplies; Ensuring excellent pharmaceutical care is delivered in each encounter.
You will have the opportunity to develop services that you believe will benefit our patient demographic. And your personal development will be
supported too.
No previous hospital experience is required. The position is suitable for any registered pharmacist, our processes are very similar to those seen in
a community setting, with support readily available to aid development of clinical knowledge.
This post would suit those with dispensary experience, and those who wish to develop their clinical knowledge further in a supportive environment. Optimus Health Ltd is firmly focused on encouraging individuals to become the pharmacist they want to be.
You will use your skills as a pharmacist to provide an out-patient pharmacy service to patients of the Trust. To use your knowledge and
experience to provide support within the pharmacy dispensary, through liaison with colleagues and patients; helping them get the most out of their medicines.
Working as part of the Dispensary Team, to deliver a high quality service to patients and users, exceeding the standards of service delivery to
promote safe and effective use of medicines.
This role operates alongside the superintendent pharmacist, allowing opportunity to develop innovative ways of working, with outstanding patient care at the centre of delivery. We serve specialities right across the hospital offering the opportunity to liaise with a range of expert clinicians.

Dispensary Services
a) Participate in duties within Out-Patient Dispensaries, including providing cover for section heads absences.
b) Provide a clinical service through pharmacy care to the out-patients of North Tees and Hartlepool Foundation Trust.
c) Undertake the professional duties of a pharmacist in order to ensure that the medicine use process conforms to legal, ethical and moral
guidelines accepted by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and General Pharmaceutical Council.
d) Undertake any other relevant duties as requested by the Superintendent Pharmacist; following appropriate training.
e) Maintain own personal development in pharmacy matters.
f) Contribute to the development of the out-patient pharmacy service at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Trust.
General and Additional Duties:
a) Supports other members of the team in performing their duties.
b) Tackle discrimination and harassment and promote equality and diversity in the workplace.
c) Reduce sickness absence; work place accidents; and promote zero tolerance on violence against staff.
d) Take responsibility for personal development and education and the development of a Personal Development Plan.
e) To act as a Responsible Pharmacist in the Out Patient Dispensaries across the Trust, including supervision of the Over The Counter medicines
sales direct to patients, using your skills in managing minor ailments.
Control of Infection
Be aware of, and comply with, all Trust infection prevention and control policies, to include hand hygiene, personal hygiene, environmental and
food hygiene. To undertake annual training/updates in infection prevention and control.
Prepare for and undertake the protective interventions that he/she is responsible for in a manner that is consistent with evidence based practice and maintaining patient safety
Communication and Working Relationships
Good communication skills are essential to participate in the pharmacy teams, especially with regards to patient contact and counselling and
professional discussions with colleagues from the wider hospital.
