An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Personal Assistant to provide support to an intelligent young man, with an acquired brain injury, within his own home and within the local community
As a Personal Assistant your duties will include befriending and supporting him in accessing social activities in the local area and reducing isolation at home. This will include days out to Blackburn Rovers, the Gym and local coffee shops. This gentleman can meet his personal care needs but does need respectful prompts and support and encouragement with nutrition and exercise. The role may involve some light domestic support and assistance with mobility when in the community.
We are looking for a proactive, caring, and motivated individual with a passion for supporting others. Experience of nutrition and exercise would be beneficial alongside an interest in sports and good conversation.
Previous experience is desirable but not essential, but a positive attitude and good work ethic is essential. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A driver with a full clean license is essential and ideally access to a car. Mileage will be reimbursed.
This is a part time position for 8 hours on a Saturday each week, with a hourly rate of £15.00 plus 5.6 weeks paid annual leave and workplace pension scheme.
