The ADAU Clerk will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive clerical support service within the maternity department. The role requires accuracy, confidentiality, and excellent communication skills to ensure the effective running of the unit. You will be responsible for the registration, admission, transfer, and discharge of patients using the Trusts Patient Administration System (PAS) and maternity systems such as BadgerNet. You will also manage the units electronic inbox, processing referrals for antenatal assessments, triaging requests, and ensuring patients are booked and tracked appropriately. In addition, you will prepare and maintain patient records, ensuring all necessary documentation is scanned and stored in accordance with Trust standards. You will liaise closely with the clinical team to support investigations, follow-up appointments, and the safe discharge of women from the unit. The postholder will also assist in maintaining stock of clerical supplies, support the preparation of reports or data entry for audits, and contribute to the general organisation of the department. As a key member of the administrative team, you will uphold the Trusts values of compassion, respect, and teamwork, ensuring a positive and supportive experience for women and their families. Main Responsibilities Provide front-line administrative and reception support for the ADAU. Maintain accurate and timely data entry on all relevant maternity information systems. Process referrals and appointments in collaboration with clinical staff. Ensure all records and documentation are correctly completed, filed, and scanned. Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and telephone calls. Support midwives and medical staff with the administrative elements of patient care. Coordinate patient discharges, follow-up appointments, and interpreter bookings when required. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection and information governance standards. Ensure adequate stock of clerical supplies and maintain a tidy, organised working environment. Report any issues or incidents promptly to the Department Manager. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for service improvement. Work flexibly to provide cover for colleagues within maternity administration when necessary.
