About the Role:
As Assistant Management Accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Finance Business Partnering team and the wider Homes Team. You’ll help produce financial information for budget holders, assist with month-end accounts, and contribute to the smooth running of financial processes.
Key responsibilities:
Prepare and update standard monthly reconciliations.
Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including journal input and data analysis.
Support forecasting and budgeting activities.
Manage day-to-day financial administration and respond to finance queries.
Tailor finance reports to meet business needs and provide a flexible, responsive service.
Contribute to the development of finance system capabilities and continuous improvement.
Support the preparation of annual budgets, statutory accounts, and regulatory returns.
What You’ll Bring:
Essential:
Minimum 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above, including mathematics.
Good standard of numeracy, literacy, and accuracy.
Customer-focused approach with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to plan and prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
Willingness to work flexibly and cooperatively as part of a team.
Good IT skills, especially Excel, and ability to quickly learn finance systems.
Desirable:
AAT qualified or working towards a recognised accounting qualification.
Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping and accruals accounting.
Commercial focus and awareness of sector and regulatory developments.

This is a permanent role working 35 hours per week. Your main base will be our Albert Dock office in Liverpool with flexibility to work across various locations in the region.
