Teacher of Geography
Permanent
MPS/UPS plus Potential TLR
Flexible starts avalable
ECTs encouraged to apply
I am recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded secondary school in Thurrock, Essex, for a permanent Teacher of Geography. With start dates available in January 2026, April 2026 or September 2026, this role offers genuine flexibility for the right candidate. The school welcomes applications from ECTs as well as experienced teachers who are passionate about Geography and keen to inspire the next generation of geographers.
The Geography department sits within a supportive Humanities faculty and benefits from a clear curriculum, strong resources and a commitment to fieldwork and real-world application. As Teacher of Geography, you will teach across KS3 and KS4, with the possibility of KS5 for suitable candidates. You will be expected to plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop pupils' understanding of both physical and human geography, their geographical skills and their awareness of contemporary global issues.
From my discussions with the school, they are particularly interested in teachers who can build strong relationships with pupils, maintain high expectations and contribute actively to the wider life of the school. ECTs will receive excellent support through a structured induction programme and regular professional development. For experienced colleagues, there may be scope for additional responsibilities within the department or faculty, and TLRs may be on offer for the right person.
If a Teacher of Geography role in Thurrock with a flexible 2026 start date sounds like the right next step for you, please get in touch. I will talk you through the school's context, what they are looking for and what they can offer you, and support you with your application and preparation for interview so that you can present your experience and strengths confidently.
