SEN Teaching Assistant
PERMANENT
ASAP START
I am working with a welcoming, inclusive primary school in Newham, East London, to recruit SEND Teaching Assistants for long-term and permanent roles. The school supports children with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs and social, emotional and mental health needs, across EYFS and Key Stages 1 and 2. They are looking for calm, nurturing individuals who genuinely want to make a difference to children's lives.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO to support pupils in class, in small intervention groups and sometimes on a one-to-one basis. You will help children to access learning by breaking down tasks, using visual supports, modelling language and encouraging independence. You will also play a key role in supporting social skills, emotional regulation and positive behaviour in and around the classroom.
The school is happy to consider both experienced SEND practitioners and those at an earlier stage in their career, provided you can demonstrate patience, resilience and a child-centred approach. Any experience in a primary setting, working with young children or supporting additional needs will be highly valued. In return, you will receive ongoing support from experienced staff and access to training related to primary SEND practice.
If you are interested in a SEND Teaching Assistant role in a Newham primary school, please get in touch. I will take the time to understand your experience, strengths and availability, and match you carefully to a role where you can have real impact and continue to develop your skills.
