SEN Teacher (One to One Teaching)
- September 2026 start date. Negotiable to start earlier for the right person
- Must hold QTS and a teaching qualification from the UK
- Visa Sponsorship will not be considered. All candidates must have right to work
- Main Pay Scale 3 to Upper Pay Scale 3 (£37,000 to £52,000)
- Based in Chertsey, Surrey
- NOT Suitable for an ECT
Are you an experienced SEN teacher who wants to continue making a real difference but outside the traditional classroom?
We are working with a family in Chertsey, Surrey, whose child is currently failing within the mainstream system. They are seeking a fully qualified teacher to provide full-time home schooling, ensuring full coverage and progression across the national curriculum. This is not a regular teaching role; you will be taking on the responsibility for planning, delivering and assessing learning for one child, tailoring every aspect of their education to their needs.
The child has severe ADHD and Autism, so we are looking for someone with proven experience in an SEN setting, ideally with a background in working 1:1 or in highly differentiated environments. You will understand how to break learning into manageable steps, use multi-sensory approaches, and build a trusting relationship that enables the child to re-engage with education. Patience, creativity and strong behaviour regulation strategies are essential.
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, based in the family home in Chertsey, Surrey. It would suit a teacher who loves teaching but is seeking a different context to a mainstream school, perhaps you are looking for more autonomy, fewer distractions, and the opportunity to focus on one learner and their progress. If you are passionate about inclusive education and want to help a child rebuild confidence and succeed outside the school environment, we would love to hear from you.
