Job OverviewWe are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work 30 hours per week (term time only – 38.6 weeks) on a temporary contract until the end of term in July, with the possibility of a permanent postion. The pay is £16,995 (pro rata), £24,330 (FTE). You will be assisting in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the Head teacher, SENCO and class teachers, including:
• Assisting in the delivery of educational work programmes by participating in day-to-day learning activities.
• Assisting in the delivery of individual work programmes for pupils with an EHCP (education health care plan) and SEN pupils with IEPs as required.
• Working with small groups of pupils as required.
• Organising and maintaining the learning environment.
• Understanding and applying school policies.Job Requirements• Good general education with English and Maths grade C or above (or equivalent qualification).• An understanding of children’s development and the physical, emotional, social and educational needs of young children.
• Commitment to the continuing professional development of self.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
• Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with staff, children and parents.
• Patience and the ability to stay calm under pressure or in frustrating situations.
