We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Legal Officer to work in the Housing Section of the Community Team within Legal Services. You should hold or be working towards a legal qualification (CILEX or equivalent), or have a law degree and suitable legal experience. You must be able to demonstrate that you have significant relevant experience of legal work.
You will advise and work on matters predominantly relating to housing disrepair claims. You must be confident in dealing with clients, partners and external professionals and also members of the public who may be claimants or witnesses in court cases.
You must be highly organised, flexible and be able to demonstrate that you are able to deal effectively with a large workload which is subject to tight deadlines. You should be an excellent communicator and a team player.
You may be required to attend some court hearings on behalf of the Council and represent Legal Services at client meetings.
