P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking an Assistant Accounts Associate to join their team based in Halesworth on a full-time, permanent basis.

Job Summary:
As an Assistant Associate with a focus on Accounts your role will be to support senior members of staff by taking responsibility for completing tasks and sections of client engagements, you will have excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring your service is tailored to their specific needs.

Main Responsibilities:
• Prepare statutory accounts jobs for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies under FRS 105 and 102 1A to a good standard
• Assist with bookkeeping and management accounts using cloud-based platforms (e.g. Xero)
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and submission to HMRC
• Assist with preparing working papers for review by Seniors
• Prepare personal, partnership and corporate tax returns for review by seniors
• Assist with tax computations, including capital gains, and capital allowances
• Draft correspondence to HMRC and clients in relation to routine aspects
• Prepare and submit MTD returns and submission to HMRC
• Communicate with HMRC and clients as necessary
• Support basic tax planning projects and research tasks

Person Specification:
• Level 4 AAT Qualified, or working towards
• Previous experience in accountancy practice
• Previous experience using cloud accounting software, including Xero
• Be competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Be willing to learn and experiment with new software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Have the ability to build constructive relationships with other team members
• Possess a can-do attitude and demonstrate confidence in own ability to achieve what is required
