Crynodeb
We're seeking an experienced and proactive Income Officer to join our Social Housing client on a temporary basis, for a minimum of 2-3 months. This is a 37 hour per week role, working on a hybrid basis, splitting your week between the office a minimum of 2 days, field-based tenant visits and working from home.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage your own caseload of rent accounts, identifying residents at risk of tenancy failure and taking early action to prevent arrears escalation.
- Carry out face-to-face tenant visits to discuss arrears and provide support, working collaboratively with internal teams to sustain tenancies.
- Devise affordable payment plans to bring accounts up to date, and signpost to external money advice services where appropriate
- Attend meetings with partner agencies (DWP, Local Authorities) to resolve benefit queries
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate records in line with policies
- Contribute to achieving income collection targets and compliance standards
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in income management or rent collection within social housing.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload.
- Good knowledge of housing legislation, welfare reform, and best practice.
- Full UK driving licence with business insurance (essential for travel).
