Our client, a highly regarded educational institution in Hayes, Greater London, is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-time SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join their team. Key responsibilities of the SEMH Learning Support Assistant include:
- Working closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualised support plans tailored to each student's specific needs
- Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to engage with the curriculum and overcome barriers to learning
- Encouraging positive behaviour and social interactions through the use of effective strategies and interventions
- Monitoring and recording student progress, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to regular reviews and assessments
- Collaborating with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to supporting students' well-being and academic success
- Participating in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with SEMH needs

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Education, Special Needs, or a related field (e.g. , CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent)
- Proven experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, preferably within an educational setting
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature, with the ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
- A proactive and flexible approach to work, with a willingness to adapt to the evolving needs of students and the school
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
