Hiring: Learning Support Assistant
Hours & Contract: 30 hrs/week (8:45–3:15), 38 weeks/year | Fixed-term until 31/08/2027
Start Date: 05/01/2026

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a new SEND Unit supporting Key Stage 2 pupils with mild to moderate ASC and/or Speech, Language & Communication needs. The role involves assisting teachers and higher-level teaching staff, delivering tailored interventions, supporting learning and welfare, promoting positive behaviour, and helping create a nurturing, inclusive environment where children can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Support learning for individuals & groups

Deliver literacy, numeracy, or tailored interventions

Assist with planning, resources, and classroom organisation

Encourage positive behaviour & independence

Support pupils’ welfare and inclusion

Skills & Experience:

Experience with SEND, ASC, SEMH, or S&LC

Strong communication & teamwork

Creativity, patience, and positive approach

Qualifications:

LSA/TA qualification preferred

GCSE English & Maths (C/4+)

Safeguarding awareness
