Personal Care Assistant (PA).

*Must hold full UK driving license
*Must good at English and excellent in communication skills
* Must be very reliable
* Male PA preference

To assist a 50 years old wheelchair male user with complex needs. He needs help to get up in a morning, preparing breakfast, carrying out tasks on computer, helping to complete exercises and stretches, cleaning, walking user & dog and general life activities (Grocery shopping and going out for coffee)

Total rate of pay £18.62 p/h, pay every 4 weeks direct into your bank account(basic pay £16.62 per hr plus holiday pay about £2 per hr).

**This is a contract job not self employ with will use a National insurance number and entitle to all employments benefits e.g. sick pay, pension scheme...etc.

This is a flexible role with no set hours; hours of work will be on an ad-hoc basis, as agreed with the employer.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide personal care support, including:
Showering
Toileting
Dressing
Assist with shopping and developing independent living skills.
Encourage and support participation in outdoor activities and adventures using my automatic adapted car.

Person Specification

You will be reliable and trustworthy with the commitment to accept responsibility. You will be comfortable working independently and taking initiative when necessary. You will always be diligent and conscientious in your approach. You will have the ability to work flexibly and adapt to the individual's needs.

You will meet the job’s physical requirements (e.g. moving & handling)

Communication skills: You must be able to communicate effectively.

Patience: it is vital that you utilise patience and take time to understand the individuals body language and varying cues for support.

Flexibility: health needs can change, and routines may need to alter, therefore, you will need to be flexible regarding shift patterns.

Organisation and Time keeping: Time management is essential as routine is very important, especially regarding medication and feeding. The PA would be expected to arrive to shift on time.
