We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified and HCPC registered applied psychologist (Fixed Term to cover maternity leave) to work across several Adult Community Mental health Teams within secondary mental health, with a centralised waiting list and shared groups. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high quality specialist psychological assessment, formulation and therapeutic interventions and care to people who are experiencing complex psychological or mental health conditions. The role can involve offering advice, guidance, training and consultation to other professionals and carers. We are interested in those who have a commitment, experience and passion to working within multidisciplinary teams, to the principles of trauma informed approaches and to working with individuals with complex emotional needs, trauma histories, and are experiencing the full range of clinical severity. You will be joining a vibrant and supportive team of well-established Clinical Psychologists, Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists, a Systemic Family Therapist, qualified and trainee DBT practitioners and Trainee Psychological Professionals.
• To provide a psychologically informed service for those experiencing complex emotional needs and mental health conditions.
• To ensure the provision of high quality, highly specialist psychological services (assessment, formulation and intervention).
• To recognise, assess, and to work with high levels of emotional trauma.
• To work as an autonomous practitioner accountable for own professional practice in respect of assessment, therapy and discharge of clients within defined caseload and, where designated, of junior psychological practitioners.
• To provide clinical supervision, reflective practice, training, and consultation as appropriate.
• To provide expert clinical advice and guidance to the multi-disciplinary teams, wider RDaSH teams, and partners organisations that support people experiencing mental distress.
• To promote a culture in which there is a positive approach to managing risk and change, working closely with other clinicians, to ensure this occurs.
• Support the achievement of all quality and performance indicators relating to the MDT and psychology teams.
• Communicate in a way which recognises difference and ensures that people feel included and their individual communication needs are met.
