Crynodeb
To co-ordinate a clinical caseload as directed by the Lead Paediatrician.Able to work autonomously and be accountable for own actions in order to assist children/young people and their families to maintain their independence including regulation of insulin therapy.To educate diabetic children, young people and their families/carer in theprinciples of diabetic management including insulin delivery systems, oraltherapies and dose adjustment.To be aware of BPT income associated with specialist nurse services andthe need to maintain this income stream. To manage resources associatedwith the best practice tariff for paediatric diabetes care.To undertake a comprehensive clinical assessment of children and youngpeople using an appropriate model and level of clinical judgment.To maintain accurate and appropriate standards of documentation.To actively participate in the collection and collation of data for audit and research.To participate in nurse led Paediatric diabetes clinic.To participate in the delivery of education/training to schools including careplanning for pupils with diabetes.Participate in education/teaching programs to meet needs of own staffgroups.To support & facilitate the smooth transition from paediatric to adultservices
