Summary
Our client, a well-established organisation in Ashford, Kent, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-time Children's Support Worker to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional support and care to children with various needs, ensuring their well-being and promoting their development.
As a Part-time Children's Support Worker, you will be responsible for:
- Working closely with children, understanding their unique needs, and providing personalised support to help them thrive
- Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans for each child
- Engaging children in educational, recreational, and therapeutic activities that promote their social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Maintaining a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that encourages growth and learning
- Building positive relationships with children, their families, and colleagues to foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere
- Observing and documenting children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns, and communicating effectively with the team and families
- Assisting with daily routines, such as meals, hygiene, and transitions, while promoting independence and self-care skills
- Participating in regular team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- A relevant qualification in childcare, social work, or a related field (e.g. , NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development)
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a support worker or similar role
- A deep understanding of child development, special educational needs, and inclusive practices
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work effectively in a team and build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- A caring, patient, and empathetic nature, with a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of children
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, which may include some evenings and weekends
- A valid enhanced DBS check and references
