Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? We are working in partnership with a well-regarded independent SEN school in Newark that supports students aged 5-19 with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and associated needs. This warm, nurturing environment is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant who is ready to make a meaningful difference every single day.
The Role:
- Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support to meet individual learning needs
- Assisting teachers in delivering structured, engaging and age-appropriate lessons
- Supporting pupils' emotional regulation, wellbeing and social development
- Encouraging positive behaviour and reinforcing clear, consistent boundaries
- Promoting independence through practical life skills and daily routines
- Contributing to progress tracking and maintaining accurate, detailed records
Who We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN is essential
- A calm, patient, resilient and child-centred approach
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and work collaboratively with staff
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not required if you bring the right experience and attitude
