Term time plus INSETs working 39 weeks per year

NJC grade 5 £26,824 - £29,540 fte

Actual term time salary £23,074 - £25,410

Start date January 2026

We are looking to appoint an experienced and dedicated individual with a passion for helping students overcome challenges and achieve their potential. We require an Interventions Lead Teaching Assistant, with an enthusiastic and positive disposition, to work with SEND, vulnerable or disadvantaged students, to raise aspirations and support the acceleration of their academic progress. This role involves a range of academic support duties including:

  • Developing, delivering, tracking and evaluating learning activities and interventions outside of the classroom. These may include interventions to address literacy, numeracy, social and communication skills and emotional regulation.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of individual education or behaviour plans.
  • Evaluating, measuring and reporting on the impact of structured programmes of intervention to the SENDCo.
  • Liaising with external agencies to develop intervention programmes>
  • Parent/carer liaison.
  • Working as an in class teaching assistant for approximately half of the working day.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced teaching assistant or mentor who has a track record in the delivery and monitoring of intervention programmes. You will have a motivational approach, with effective communication and interpersonal skills, along with a commitment to fostering a supportive and encouraging learning environment. Experience of working with SEND students or vulnerable groups within an educational setting is essential. You will need to be able to demonstrate resourcefulness whilst also adhering to safeguarding protocols and practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as well as proficiency with IT, including excel.
