A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Welfare Rights, Debt Advice and Fairer Charging Service joining a team of experienced welfare rights and debt advisers.
We are seeking to appoint a full time Senior Welfare Rights Officer who will lead a team of specialist welfare rights advisers. The role involves providing line management and professional supervision including regular case file reviews to quality assure advice in line with service standards.
The Welfare Rights and Debt Advice and Fairer Charging Service is a well-established team based within the Adult Social Care and Health Partnerships Directorate. The service provides welfare rights and debt advice to 5,000 Salford citizens each year and in 2024/25, secured over £11 million for Salford residents through specialist welfare rights and debt advice and representation.
Salford Welfare Rights and Debt Advice Service provides a supportive environment and you will be joining an experienced management team with a passion for independent specialist advice, social justice and innovation. We foster a learning and development culture for all members of the team. The service offers accessible face to face advice in community settings and by home visits. We support hybrid and flexible working patterns with the expectation of attending our office base on the Civic Centre campus at least one day per week.
