The Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust Specialist Autism Service now has an exciting opportunity for a new Specialist Autism Modern Matron who will have both operational and clinical responsibilities across our adult Specialist Autism Team, our Children and Young People’s Autism Intensive Support Team and our Learning Disability and Autism Key-Working Service.

The Modern Matron will play a full role in the Senior Leadership Team for the Care Group (Learning Disability and Autism).

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join a multiple national award-winning service, supporting autistic people of all ages who are in receipt of Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust Mental Health provision. LSCFT’s all age Specialist Autism Service has a large delivery area, covering the whole of the Lancashire and South Cumbria and as such, this post will cover the full geography.

The successful applicant will lead and be responsible for the delivery of high-quality care and patient experience within Specialist Autism Services, through proactive clinical and operational leadership to the multidisciplinary teams at all levels within their area of responsibility.

The post holder will need to ensure the delivery of high quality, evidence based, compassionate, person-centred care and work collaboratively with service management, senior management and wider senior clinical staff to achieve this.

The successful candidate will have a wide range of experience in providing autism specialist services to adults, children or both, exceptional communication, motivational and influencing skills and be able to encourage teams to work across organisational boundaries whilst holding patient care at the heart of their work. The successful candidate will also have experience of operational and line management responsibilities.

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
