Summary


Itisenvisaged thatthepost holderwill work10programmed activities over 5days.

The overall split of the programmed activities is 7.5 to be devoted to direct clinical care (DCC) split between the Blossom Team 4.5 DCC and the DBT team 3 DCCand 2.5 tosupportingprofessionalactivities (SPA) aspertheRoyalCollege ofPsychiatristsrecommendation.The timetable is indicativeonly.

A formaljobplanwillbeagreed betweenthepost holderandclinicaldirector three monthsafter commencingthepostandatleastannuallythereafter.

Blossom Team

TheConsultantPsychiatristwill work withallthedisciplinesin the teamto provideassessment, consultation,adviceandsupport.Thepost holderwill work withinternal andexternalagencieswithinthe child’snetworktoensurethebestpossibleclinical outcomes foryoungpeople presentingin Crisisandyoungpeoplerequiring intensivesupport.

Theconsultantpsychiatristwillprovide psychiatricassessmentsand interventions.Thepost holderwillbeexpected toprovideconsultation andsome clinicalsupervision toclinicians in theteam.Theposition beingadvertised(6 PAs) isexpected to provideapproximately5 to8assessments/reviews perweek-thiswill varydependingon thecomplexityofcases.



The maximum caseload is anticipated to be around 20-25 in total.

DBT Team

For DBT, referrals are received internally from tri-borough Oxleas CAMHS teams. All have a care co-ordinator and individual therapist within the DBT team. The post holder will be responsible for medical oversight for approximately 10-15 young people, and will be offered DBT therapy training to ensure that care given complements the DBT model of delivery.

N.B. Overall combined caseload will be between 30 to 40.

· Provision of psychiatric care to CYP in Blossom & DBT Teamsthrough evaluation,diagnosisanduseofappropriate treatmentplans/strategiesfor childrenpresentingwith mentalhealthdifficulties

· Workingcollaborativelywithcolleaguestoensuredelivery of therighttreatmentfor eachyoungpersonreferredinkeepingwith evidence-basedpractice

· Tomanage,appraiseandgiveprofessional supervisiontojuniormedical staffasagreed between consultant colleagues andthemedicaldirectorandinaccordance withtheTrust’spersonnelpolicies and procedures. ThismayincludeassessingcompetencesundertheModernisingMedicalCareersframework

· Toensurethatjuniormedical staff working withthepost holderoperatewithintheparameters of the New Deal and are Working Time Directive compliant

· Toundertake the administrativedutiesassociatedwiththecareofpatients

· Toparticipate inannual appraisalforconsultants

· Toparticipateannuallyinajobplanreview withtheclinicalmanager,which willincludeconsultationwith arelevantmanagerinordertoensurethatthepostisdevelopedto takeintoaccountchangesinserviceconfigurationanddeliveryassociatedwithmodernisation

· To work with localmanagersand professional colleaguesinensuringtheefficientrunningof services,and share withconsultantcolleagues in themedicalcontribution tomanagement
