Opened in 1931 Wardie Primary School is situated in North Edinburgh and is part of the Trinity Cluster. The school roll is 450 with a 40 place nursery. We have 22 teaching staff. SLT made up of 1 HT, 2 DHT, 1 PT, and 1 BM. 27 Support Staff including Administrator, Clerical Assistants, Pupil Support Assistants, Early Years Officer, Early Years Practitioners, Early Years Assistants, and Early Years Domestics.
We are recruiting a teacher to work in Wardie Primary School in our P2 class with 2 stage partners. The role is a maternity cover and is fixed term until 26th June 2026. Start date is 5th January 2026. The successful candidate will be working Wednesdays and Thursdays. Interviews to be held week commencing 8th December 2025.
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
