An opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, enthusiastic and motivated Lead Technician to join our excellent Pharmacy Team on the Hammersmith hospital site, which is part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

You will assist with managing the Pharmacy Dispensary, Distribution and Stores Team, providing a high quality, patient focused dispensing and stock management service to the wards and clinics on the Hammersmith site.

You will need significant experience working as a Senior Technician in a hospital Pharmacy environment. You must have a NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification, be a registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC, be an accredited checking technician and have mandatory professional CPD as defined by the GPhC.

• To input prescription information using the Pharmacy Computer system.
• To dispense and supply drugs to patients (including using the automated dispensing system (‘Robot’).
• To support the Patient Services Manager and Chief Technician in the day to day management and running of the dispensary to ensure a high quality service with exemplary customer care.
• To provide technical and professional guidance to all dispensary staff.
• To work closely with all pharmacists with regard to the filing of MCAs.
• To undertake technical final accuracy check of dispensed items.
• To have a working knowledge of all procedures, legislation or national guidelines relating to the storage and dispensing of unlicensed medicinal products, controlled drugs, oral chemotherapy and clinical trials.
• To have a thorough and in-depth working knowledge of pharmacy stock control and ordering systems.
