Hays Recruitment is proud to be supporting a highly regarded Winsford-based primary school that is at the heart of its local community as they are looking for an experienced and qualified teaching assistant to join their KS2 team on a long-term temporary basis after the Christmas period. This is a full-time temporary contract that will last the remainder of the academic year. You will play an integral part in the education and development of a full capacity year 3 class. This is an extremely energetic and lovely class with a select group of pupils that are unfortunately falling behind on the curriculum due to a lack of engagement. To promote their engagement and focus, you will implement an array of positive behaviour strategies such as brain breaks, movement breaks, and positive reinforcement, prior to their disengagement point. As well as supporting with behaviour management within the class, you will take the lead on interventions. You will plan, prepare and deliver small group and 1:1 interventions in core subjects to ensure that subject shortfalls become areas of strength. Other duties will include:
- Actively participate in team meetings, highlighting key achievements and giving accurate feedback
- Liaison with parents/guardians on pupil progress
- Break and lunchtime responsibilities
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, have a minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years, and:
- Be at minimum Level 2 (or equivalent) Supporting Teaching and Learning qualified
- Be able to commit to a long-term full-time contract (32.5 hours per week)
- Have expert knowledge of the KS2 national curriculum
