Your new company
Hays Recruitment is proud to have partnered with an extremely welcoming and inclusive two-form entry primary school in Winsford that is at the heart of its local community as they need an experienced and qualified teaching assistant to support the year 5 class. This is a long-term full-time contract starting in January that will last the remainder of the academic year. You will be working in collaboration with the class teacher, who is also the deputy head teacher, ensuring that all pupils reach their full academic potential by leading on small group interventions with lower ability pupils and positive behaviour support. This is an extremely loving full capacity class, with a minority of pupils having extremely "lively" personalities. To ensure the smooth running of class, you will implement an array of positive behaviour strategies to promote engagement and focus, such as movement breaks, brain breaks, traffic light systems, etc.
Other duties will include but may not be limited to:
- Assisting with general classroom management
- Organising seasonal display with pupils
- Supporting during break and lunch times
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, be at least NVQ Level 2 or equivalent supporting teaching and learning qualified, and:
- Have experience in and good knowledge of the KS2 national curriculum
- The ability to hold intense interventions in core subjects
- Be able to commit to a full-time long-term contact (32.5 hours per week)
