Crynodeb

Are you a recent graduate who wants to make a real difference in young people's lives?
Maybe you're thinking about becoming a teacher someday… or maybe you're just curious about working in a school and want to try something meaningful before committing to anything long-term?

If that sounds like you, you might be exactly who our partner schools in Winchester are looking for.

We're helping one of Hampshire's top-performing secondary schools recruit a kind, patient and people-focused Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join their team. And honestly? It's one of the best first-step roles out there if you're curious about teaching, SEN, psychology, pastoral support… or simply want a role where you can make a young person's day just by showing up and being you.

And here's the best bit:
You don't need school experience. At all.
If you've never worked in a classroom before, don't worry - we'll guide you, train you, and make sure you feel confident before you step into anything.

You'll get:

• Free training and CPD to help you feel prepared
• Experience days so you can try the role before committing
• Regular check-ins from a friendly team who actually want to know how you're getting on
• Ongoing support with behaviour strategies, SEN basics, routines, and confidence-building
• The reassurance that you're not doing this alone - we're with you from day one

We take your wellbeing seriously, we're up-front about everything, and we genuinely want you to enjoy this experience rather than just "get through" it.

You'll be right at the heart of the classroom, helping the students who need a little extra support to feel safe, understood and able to learn.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Supporting students with additional or complex learning needs
• Providing calm, steady 1:1 support when a young person needs it most
• Working with small groups to help them understand the work and stay focused
• Being a friendly face around school - someone students trust and feel comfortable with
• Helping teachers keep lessons inclusive, accessible and positive
• Working closely with the SENCO and pastoral team to remove barriers to learning

It's a role where patience, empathy, kindness, and consistency matter far more than academic knowledge. You'll be someone students can rely on - a steady presence, a listening ear, and a voice of calm when they need it.

We'd love to hear from graduates who are:

• Thinking about teaching, SEN, educational psychology, or pastoral work
• Warm, patient and genuinely good with people
• Reliable, proactive and able to stay calm when things get busy
• Interested in making a real difference - not just "doing a job"

Again, no experience needed. Just bring the right attitude, and we'll help with the rest.

You'll get:

• £85-£100 per day (PAYE), paid weekly
• Free CPD and specialist SEND training
• Proper preparation before you start - no being thrown in at the deep end
• An agency that puts wellbeing, transparency and fairness first
• A temp-to-perm route if you fall in love with the school (and many do!)
• Genuine support, not just check-ins for the sake of it

We want you to thrive - not just survive.

Location: Winchester
Role: Graduate Learning Support Assistant
Contract: Temp-to-Perm
Hours: 8:30am-3:00pm, term-time only
Schedule: Full-time (with part-time options)
Pay: From £85/day (PAYE)

If you're ready to build real, meaningful experience in a school - and support young people who genuinely need you - we'd love to hear from you.
