Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Homeless Prevention Visiting Officer (SO2) to join our team and make a significant impact in the lives of individuals and families at risk of homelessness. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting assessments and providing tailored support to help clients navigate through their circumstances, ultimately preventing the loss of their homes. Your work will involve home visits, engaging with various stakeholders, and connecting clients to vital resources, including housing options, financial assistance, and counseling services. You will also work closely with other professionals, such as social workers and mental health providers, to create comprehensive care plans that address the multifaceted challenges our clients face. As a Homeless Prevention Visiting Officer, your role is pivotal in fostering resilience and promoting sustainable outcomes for those in crisis. Responsibilities
Conduct home visits to assess the needs of clients at risk of homelessness.
Develop individualized support plans in collaboration with clients.
Connect clients to emergency accommodation and long-term housing solutions.
Coordinate with local services, including financial aid programs and support groups.
Monitor progress and provide ongoing support throughout the prevention process.
Advocate for clients in their interactions with landlords and service providers.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and outcomes.
Requirements
A degree in social work, community development, or a related field.
Experience working directly with vulnerable populations or in homelessness services.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to assess complex situations and develop effective interventions.
Knowledge of local housing policies and homelessness prevention strategies.
Empathy and understanding toward individuals facing housing insecurity.
Proficiency in using case management systems and databases.

Hours Per Week: 35.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £23.51
Location: Lambeth, South East London
