The infectious diseases department at UCLH comprises a dynamic, friendly and welcoming team with a breadth of specialist interests in both clinical and academic aspects of infectious diseases and tropical medicine. There are close links with infection related pathology specialties (microbiology/virology/parasitology) and frequent opportunities for both timetabled and ad hoc learning.

You will have access to our highly regarded resident education programme, including weekly journal club, case-based returning traveller teaching, audit, research meetings and grand round. Feedback from these is outstanding. You will have the opportunity to observe and if appropriate deliver clinics in our busy returning traveller clinic (3000 patients seen in the last year) and to observe highly specialist infection and tropical clinics and multi-disciplinary meetings (eg leprosy, leishmaniasis, hydatid). Additional paid locum work in the infection division on the UCLH Trust Bank is frequently available.

You will be supported in pursuing a funding application for further academic work in a data science discipline if appropriate.
