This role supports the delivery of recycling and waste minimisation initiatives across the county, helping to improve recycling performance and promote sustainable practices. You will be part of a motivated, customer‑focused team working to deliver kerbside recycling schemes and wider reuse initiatives.
The position is hybrid, with a minimum of two days per week based at Parc Myrddin offices. Travel to other office locations within the county may be required, so a driving licence is desirable.

Assist in scheduling staff work, liaising with colleagues, and recording outcomes.
Use Excel spreadsheets for data capture, monitoring, and reporting.
Support strategies to identify areas with low recycling participation and deliver targeted education initiatives.
Handle complaints and requests from the public, ensuring customer satisfaction in line with the council’s ethos of reduce, reuse, recycle.
Attend occasional community events (including some weekends/evenings, with notice).
Contribute to Carmarthenshire’s recycling and waste minimisation strategy, aligned with Welsh Government Waste Strategy.
About You
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals with:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Good IT skills, including proficiency in Excel.
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Confidence in dealing with residents in person and over the phone.
Interest in recycling, sustainability, and the environment.
Flexibility to accommodate varied working patterns.
Basic knowledge of Carmarthenshire recycling schemes (training provided).
Basic Welsh language skills (written level 1, verbal level 2) or willingness to achieve this with support.
