Summary

We are working closely alongside with a local authority in Carmarthenshire to assist with the appointment of a Waste Minimisation /Recycling Assistant on a 2.5-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Summary:

This is an exciting, customer-focused opportunity within the Waste Minimisation and Recycling division of Carmarthenshire Waste and Environmental Services. The successful candidate will be a motivated and driven individual supporting the development and delivery of promotional elements of the Waste Strategy. The primary goal is to increase and improve the Countys recycling performance by developing targeted education and awareness initiatives, managing public communication channels, and providing high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities:

Support the development and delivery of promotional elements of the Waste Strategy, contributing directly to improved recycling performance across the County.
Deal with written, in-person, and telephone complaints and requests from members of the public, ensuring all issues are resolved to the customer's satisfaction in line with Customer Care principles and the reduce, reuse, recycle ethos.
Use Excel spreadsheets to set up new systems for basic data capture and monitoring of recycling performance and participation rates.
Serve as a confident and effective team player when dealing with residents on a one-to-one basis, both over the telephone and face-to-face.
Essentials:

Excellent ability to communicate verbally (English Level 5, Welsh Level 2) and in writing (English Level 5, Welsh Level 1) with a wide range of individuals.
A basic knowledge of the recycling service available to residents in Carmarthenshire (knowledge of the service found on the Council website is expected).
An understanding of Carmarthenshire recycling schemes and an awareness of the Welsh Government Waste Strategy and key issues facing the Councils waste section.
A basic knowledge of Welsh is required, or a readiness to work towards a basic level of conversational Welsh (Verbal Level 2) to accomplish this post. Support will be provided on appointment to reach this level.
