Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for a QTS Qualified SEN Primary Class Teacher to join a school in Northolt, West London, supporting students with autism, and behavioural needs.

Working Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm
Schedule: Full Time, 5 days per week
Location: Northolt
Start Date: ASAP
Daily Rate: Paid according to your teaching

Role Details:
You will be teaching KS2 students with autism and related complex needs. The role requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and a commitment to providing a supportive learning environment tailored to the needs of these students.
The School:
A primary school that provides education for children from Reception (ages 4-5) through to Year 6 (ages 10-11).
About the Students:
All students in the class have an have additional complex medical conditions or are diagnosed with Autism. The student body is diverse, representing various ethnic backgrounds, cultures, and faiths.
Effective Approaches for Teaching Children with Autism:
· PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System): A picture-based system where children exchange pictures to communicate needs and build sentence structures, helping non-verbal children express themselves and reduce frustration.
· Makaton: A language program using signs and symbols (alongside speech) to support communication. Its ideal for children with limited verbal skills, helping them understand and use language through visual and manual signs.
· Speech-Generating Devices & Other Tools: Devices like iPads with communication apps or communication boards help children express themselves, while visual schedules and social stories support daily routines and social interaction.
Requirements:
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
· Child and Adult DBS (Enhanced Disclosure)
· Right to Work in the UK
· 2 Professional References
