Crynodeb

Inpatient patient care: Responsible for overseeing and co-ordinating the comprehensive inpatient care of patients with colorectal conditions, ensuring optimal medical management and patient outcomes. Organisation and support of the cancer MDT: Facilitate organisation, active participation, and effective communication in the Cancer and IBD multidisciplinary meetings. Participation and organisation of theatre sessions: Actively participate in and organise colorectal operating sessions ensuring efficient and coordinated delivery of surgical care and optimal patient outcomes. Specialist clinics: Participation in the multidisciplinary cancer, general and IBD colorectal clinics providing care for patients in the outpatient setting. Joint ward rounds: Collaborate with the cancer / IBD / nutrition team in conducting joint ward rounds for perioperative patients. Triaging of referrals: Ensuring patients referred to the service are triaged to the appropriate specialist in a timely and efficient manner to ensure best outcome. Assisting in the delivery of quality improvement, audit, research and teaching: Contributing to the ongoing initiatives, research endeavours and educational activities within and outside of the department. General responsibilities Post-holders will be working at the middle / senior grade level as a Trust Grade Registrar and be part of a team of 8 at the middle grade level within the General Surgery department. Although this post is not a recognised training post, you will have a wide opportunity to develop your surgical skills and you will be expected to have a strong academic commitment and to be part of the ongoing academic and audit activities of the department. You will be part of a 1 in 8 on call rota.
