This is a critical post within the Learning and Skills team, ensuring Hull City Council meets its statutory duties under Section 19 of the Education Act 1996. The Quality of Education Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring that children and young people who face barriers to school due to exclusion, illness, or other reasons receive a high-quality, suitable education whilst attending alternative provisions.
You will lead on the development and implementation of a robust framework to monitor and improve the quality of education in alternative provision (AP) settings. Working closely with schools, AP providers, families, and internal services, you will support successful transitions and reintegration into mainstream education.
Whilst promoting inclusive practice, you will monitor engagement, attendance, and outcomes in collaboration with the Education Welfare Service, establishing and reviewing educational outcomes for all children accessing alternative provisions, commissioned by the local authority.
